THE ADULTS DON’T KNOW ANY MORE ABOUT TRUTH THAN YOU DO. KEEP BELIEVING IN THE FAIRIES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GARDEN. NOTHING IS “JUST THE WAY IT IS”. I AM SORRY THEY EVER CONVINCED YOU TO FEEL SHAME. It’s so weird when people send me asks about how dreamy/perfect my life sounds because I remember thinking that when I was a teen on tumblr reading older women’s blogs about traveling but the truth is once you get to this age & do it, it just feels like life. I still worry about money & my family & school & have nightmares about my ex or my grandma dying. There is no perfect point in life. Do what you can to make it nice but I’m only human and it hasn’t been easy
Had this moment where I was late and stuck in traffic today where I just thought “well, I can’t go any faster, might as well blast the music & open the sunroof.” It’s so simple but something just clicked for me this year after suffering a lot of grief/death/life changes where I’m very aware of how precious each moment is and I constantly think “I’ll never be as young as I am today again.” Like I’ve had those thoughts before, but it’s getting applied in real time without concentrated effort now. Glad I had that realization at 27 instead of in actual old age
